Character's personality
Kaoru is a Hitachiin. And you know what that means. They love to tease people and make pranks. When they get bored with something, they discard it and look for something new to keep their interests. The Hitachiin's favorite pastime is confusing people. But that's just when they're together. When separate, you realize that Kaoru is the level-headed of the two, and analyzing. Even though he's the younger and uke in the 'relationship', he seems more mature then his hot-headed brother. He often ponders about things and cares and worries for his brother alot. Basically, he's the nice and (usually) quiet one of the siblings...when they're alone.

Character's history
Kaoru Hitachiin was born on June 9th, a few moments after Hikaru, his older brother was born. And from since then, they have been inseparable. They went everywhere together and they had their own world. Because they were so alike, nobody could tell the difference. Did they want people to be able to know which was which? In my opinion, I think they did, but at the same time they didn't. They grew up a tad bit twisted and began thinking that other people were not needed because they had each other, and that was all they needed. This went on till middle school, where they were rather disliked by their classmates, thinking they were snobby. But fate led them to Suoh Tamaki, who invited them to be in the Host Club. At first they protested, but they caved in soon and joined. There, they used 'forbidden love between twins' and 'symmetry' as their point.

Then came Fujioka Haruhi, the girl who pretends to be a boy. That was the beginning of the change in the twins. Haruhi could tell them apart. That meant she was invading their world slowly. But..Hikaru and Kaoru didn't mind, because they liked her. The two, became a trio. And then, Kaoru noticed something. Hikaru seemed to have a crush on Haruhi. Now, he's a bit afraid of Hikaru leaving him and going for the girl Hikaru seems to have a crush on. Because then, where would Kaoru fit in? But nevertheless, being the good brother, he decides to give them a push and hope that Hikaru finds a happy ending, with or without Kaoru.
